Tali & Kapi at Kiwirrkura #432

Kelly's choice of colours represents the more traditional pigments used for ground designs and body decoration. Her sense of design and movement shows the close association between painted images and the physical landscape. The concentric circle in the centre of the piece represents a water hole near Kiwirrkura in Kelly's homelands. This rock hole site is culturally significant as many women's ceremonies are carried out at this specific site.
